No Efforts to Ban Alice Cooper Here

Could you please tell me whether there is any effort being made to ban Alice Cooper from ever coming to Dayton? If so, who is doing it and where could I locate them? Also, is Alice Cooper coming to Dayton in the future?

Kim Muka, Dayton

We don't think there are any active efforts to ban the snake-fondling, mascara-laden rock idol from appearing in the Gem City. He just has not announced any plans to visit here.

Cooper's marathon concert tour began in March 1973 and took him across the country over several months may have left him in need of a rest. Reviewers of his latest album, "Muscle of Love," claim Alice may be calming down his act; or at least considering changes. He may not emerge again until he gets his head straight, so to speak, they say.

Cooper's last (and only) appearance in Dayton, by the way, was March 12, 1971, in Wright State University's tiny (500 seats) Oelman auditorium. But that was before Alice broke with his first big hit single, "I'm Eighteen."
