Carlos, Alice score hits

ALICE COOPER's music has changed a little, too, although the degree of change is nowhere near that of Santana. On Muscle of Love one can detect subtle musical changes from such vintage Cooper LP's as Love It To Death and Killer. The most perceptible is that the music isn't quite as frantic, although the lyrics are just as tasteless.

Be that as it may, by the time Alice Cooper has proven that they are one hell of a group when it comes to what it's all about-laying down good rock music. As on every Alice Cooper album, Mike Bruce's great lead guitar provides the backbone for the Cooper sound. His style is gritt-quick, a perfect complement for Alice's vocals.

Best cuts are "Big Apple Dreaming," "Hard Hearted Alice," "Crazy Little Child," "Working Up A Sweat," and "Teenage Lament '74."

"Big Apple Dreaming" is a rock based on Alice's excursions in New York City. "Hard Hearted Alice" is especially good.

Out of the nine cuts on Muscle of Love, five can be listed as "best cuts", which means that whichever way you look at it Alice Cooper has produced yet another winner.
