Tue, 30 Sep 2008 - Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson Alice is once again on Craig Ferguson tonight, this time the "Vengeance Is Mine" footage will air. There is some talk on Blabbermouth that Alice has been censored slightly in the performance during the theatrical element, it's hard to imagine! The long awaited three song video for "Along Came A Spider" is being unveiled on Alice's Myspace page tomorrow at some point. If it's anything as good as the promo clips we are in for a treat, and just in time for Halloween! The printer-friendly feature has finally returned to the articles section of the site, so it's once again easier to keep your favourite articles at hand for those cold and lonely nights! Thu, 7 Aug 2008 - Broken Rib? Knac.com are reporting that Alice fell at a show in Oregon last week, breaking a rib. As ever, the show must go on, no shows have been cancelled as of yet. The article also has more information about the recent promotional video shoot, which seems to suggest two short videos were being shot for Vengeance is Mine and Killed by Love. Wed, 6 Aug 2008 - US Chart Position / NEW VIDEO! It appears that Along Came A Spider is the first Alice album in over a decade to receive a respectable chart position here in the States. The album entered the charts straight in at No. 53. As most fans will agree, it's about time. So what went right this time around? And, what had Spitfire Records and New West Records failed to do previously? I guess that would be promotion. Previous labels promised a lot, and each failed to deliver. This time around there has been a supportive team behind the project. Producer Greg Hampton, who has worked with SPV in the past, secured Alice a decent amount of financial support from the label. But the attention has to go to musicain Piggy D. and photographer Gabrielle Geiselman, without whom there would be no buzz surrounding the album at all. Gabrielle's photography is some of the best that Alice fans have seen in a long time, images capturing the darker side of the Alice character and the underlying humour that surrounds Alice's legacy, all the while whetting the appetites of what there was to come. Piggy D. has just been working his ass off promoting the album... creating poster designs from Gabrielle's shots, and promotional videos to expand the themes even further. Piggy D. even found time to rework Alice's official web site to give him the professional looking site that someone of Alice's calibur should have. We saw Alice's MySpace receiving an overhaul, and a preview track added early in July - almost a month before the albums release. Then there was the YouTube Channel... a YouTube station dedicated to Alice videos where Piggy D.'s masterly produced promotional shorts aired weekly in the lead up to the albums release. Alice fans were obviously delighted seeing Alice using the internet to his advantage. The buzz it generated was something fans had not previously experienced in the electronic age. Even though most of the promotion for the album was centered around the internet there was no way that Along Came A Spider could fail... Still, Blabbermouth are reporting that that album sold just under 10,000 in the US in it's first week so there's still a long way to go. A full video has even been shot for the album, with a crew of 40! No word on what track, but Piggy D. is claiming this is something completely different from anything ever done before... Seems Alice is back! Here are the current first week worldwide chart position, as they stand currently:
Canada: 19 * Chart positions from Blabbermouth, SickthingsUK, and Swiss Charts Mon, 4 Aug 2008 - Along Came A Chart Position It appears that Along Came a Spider hasn't faired too badly in the UK. It charted at No. 31. Still waiting to hear how it did in the US and other territories. There are a bunch of reviews for the new album around on the web, and here are a few:
IGN Music There are some recent articles or interviews showing up online... The Black Hill Pioneer & the Rapid City Weekly News Sat, 26 Jul 2008 - "Time is getting closer..." Like you need any more reminding, but Along Came A Spider is released on Tuesday in the United States. The CD release comes housed in a nice two-fold Digi-Pak and the special vinyl release is available on coloured vinyl. The Vinyl has been delayed by a couple weeks in the UK, no word on whether this will be the case for the US release. Amazon are listing the vinyl release as being "Enhanced", whatever that means in the context of vinyl (some vinyl have been coming with mp3 downloads so...) Pre-orders for the new album at Newbury Comics will receive a limited edition autographed cd booklet, only while supplies last, so order soon! The Official Alice Cooper site has received a much needed re-working, and Alice now has a really professional looking site at long last! SPV have unveil a special site for the new album, featuring a new Pinball Game based on the album. The tour began earlier this month, the Psycho-Drama Tour, a continuation of last years tour (of the same name). A few new songs might be added as the tour progresses. Rue Morgue magazine, Canada's excellent horror magazine, will feature an extensive cover feature on Alice in an upcoming issue. Take note, a COVER story... More details on this to follow shortly. Alice has been hammering hard at the UK market...

Alice has a brand new page on YouTube. On July 4th a promotional video was uploaded. A second video was uploaded yesterday. You can also see both videos in our new page dedicated to the new album, which features graphics, tour dates, information snippets, and videos. Check it out here. Alice's Phoenix restaurant Cooper'sTown will be on an upcoming episode of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservation on the Travel Channel. The several magazine appearances right now. Alice is featured on the cover of Italy's Hard Rock magazine, there is a four page article and poster inside. There's also a two-page spread in Hit Parader in their "Complete History of Hard Rock" dated June/July. German magazine Rocks also features an Alice cover article spanning a nice 4 pages. There is also talk that Alice might work with the hit UK comedy show, the Might Boosh, on a rock musicial, but as we know from talks on previous projects they rarely come to fruition. Tue, 24 Jun 2008 - New track previewed Exciting news! Alice has previewed the first new track from Along Came A Spider on myspace today. Go check out Vengeance Is Mine... Mon, 23 Jun 2008 - Major site updates! I'm please to unveil a serious and much needed upgrade to the echive. I've been working on improving a number of features on the site, behind the scenes, for the past year. Today they are ready to roll! The major development for this site, and the Alice community at large, is advancement of the article collection contained here; the advancement into the database driven arena. This will mean that the articles are now much easier to retrieve, and much easier for me to add. So, take a look and let me know what you think, and most importantly get down to some reading! There have also been some slight adjustment to a couple other sections of the site. The Lyrics, Gallery and Tour Date sections have received an overhaul, so they should be a lot easier to use now. Enjoy, and watch for more updates and additions over the coming months... Mon, 8 Jun 2008 - Along Comes a Spider...
The album tells the tale of Spider, an "arachnophobic psychopath" who collects the legs of his victims and wraps their bodies in silk. Spider runs into trouble when he falls in love with one of his planned victims. Each song is a letter to the police, who "they think they're investigating it from the outside, but he's actually woven them into the whole thing." The track listing is as follows: Catch Me, Hungry, I Am The Spider', I Know Where You Live, (In Touch With) Your Feminine Side, Killed By Love, Salvation, The One That Got Away, Vengeance Is Mine, Wake The Dead, Wrapped In Silk. The tour in support of the new album begin in July, and the schedule is filling up pretty nicely, although the US dates aren't very heavy this time around. Alice talked about doing a theatrical tour for the album next year, which might explain the lack of US dates. Along Came A Spider Tour Schedule
In other news, Alice was team captain in this years Michael Douglas & Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament which aired on NBC yesterday (June 7th). Alice's team though, lost once again, after a one hole play-off in which Emily Osment missed the crucial putt. Look for further developments on the Alice Cooper eChive in the coming weeks, as new features are unveiled... Mon, 7 Apr 2008 - Slew of new tour dates! A large amount of dates have been announced for the upcoming Psycho Drama Tour 2008, the majority of these dates are in Canada, a massive amount of them too!
Thu, 27 Mar 2008 - Articles Working Again! It appears that the articles on the site have not been working! My apologies for this problem, but it is now fixed and the articles are once again accessible. My host recently moved to a new platform, so I was completely unaware of the article problem. It was something that worked on the old platform that doesn't work on the new one! Unfortunately, the articles still load fairly slow. But things are in the works to get the whole site working a lot faster, especially the articles. So bare with me a few months longer, while I battle away at the nitty gritty of the site. Thank you for your patience! Sat, 8 Mar 2008 - New Record Label / Tour Dates Steamhammer/SPV Press Release ALICE COOPER SIGNS WITH STEAMHAMMER/SPV Steamhammer/SPV are proud to announce another spectacular new signing in rock icon Alice Cooper. The label from Hanover, Germany, has agreed on a worldwide contract with the legendary American star. Autumn 2008 will see the arrival of the eagerly awaited new studio album, which Cooper began recording in February. The working title of the upcoming release is Along Came A Spider. The album is being co-produced by Greg Hampton and Danny Saber in Los Angeles. Alice Cooper ranks among the top echelon of great rock stars who first achieved success in the Seventies and who are still actively touring and recording. His spectacular live shows, skillfully staged using visual effects, elaborate outfits, his trademark make-up and props including guillotines, gallows, electric chairs, snakes, and plenty of blood, are legendary, and he has recorded a myriad of celebrated worldwide classic hits including, among others, 'I'm 18,' 'School's Out,' 'Elected,' 'No More Mr. Nice Guy,' 'Billion Dollar Babies,' 'Only Women Bleed,' 'I Never Cry,' 'Poison,' 'Bed Of Nails,' 'Hey Stoopid,' and 'Feed My Frankenstein.' He has long enjoyed a reputation as a musical enfant terrible, an artist who has been described as "a chaotic reflex of the electronic age" by the media and referred to himself as the "end product of an affluent society." Alice's "Nights With Alice Cooper" syndicated classic rock radio show continues to air Monday through Friday on 90 stations throughout North America plus outlets in Australia, Ireland, the UK, and other countries. And the paperback edition of his recent "Golf Monster" book hits the stores in May 2008. Cooper will interrupt the current studio production for March shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, and plans extensive touring later in 2008 covering Europe, Canada, and the USA. His band features longtime drummer Eric Singer, guitarists Keri Kelli and Jason Hook, and bassist Chuck Garric. Along Came A Spider 2008 Tour Dates
Sat, 26 Jan 2008 - Inside Alice's Toybox Avantasia, a symphonic metal band put together by Tobias Sammet of Edguy, release The Scarecrow on February 5th in the USA (January 28th in Europe).
The Scarecrow is the third album from Avantasia, and follows in their continuing series of Metal Opera's (The Metal Opera, and The Metal Opera part II). Each album in the series features a number of guest musicians, and the Scarecrow is no different. Of particular interest to us is that this time around Alice Cooper is a guest vocalist (as well as Alice/KISS drummer Eric Singer). Alice graces The Toy Master with his voice. The album is released by Nuclear Blast Records on CD, limited CD with DVD, and a special double vinyl picture disc. Thu, 24 Jan 2008 - Our numbers dwindle Long time Alice fan Dennis Horn passed away on January 19th, aged 54. Dennis was one of us early members of the original SickThings mailing list back in the day. He will be missed by all those who knew him. You can read Dennis Horn's obituary here Sat, 19 Jan 2008 - First new tour dates of the year! Looks like Alice is already getting ready to hit the road, hopefully to support the upcoming record, Along Came A Spider. KeriKelli.com has announced the following dates:

Wed, 20 Jun 2007 - Stone Pony Footage Identified / New Tour Dates / Movie Update The video footage of the Alice Cooper group playing live in 1971 has finally been identified. Originally thought to be a performance at the Stone Pony Club in New Jersey, although the venue attached to this footage has always been considered questionable. But it can now be revealed that this show is infact a performance at the Sunshine In, Asbury Park, New Jersey, USA on the 4th July 1971. The support at this show was more than likely the James Gang. There is a possibility that the date of the show could be slightly wrong, but the venue is a fairly certain match to eyewitness accounts. Hopefully some ticket stubs and the like will appear to confirm the date absolutely. Some new dates for the United States leg of the current Psycho-Drama tour have been announced on Ticketmaster.com
According to the Internet Movie Database Alice's cameo appearance in the upcoming film, Horrorween, (as reported here earlier) has now moved to confirmed status. The film is being directed by Joe Estevez and is being film at the moment, with a projected release date of 2008. There's always a possibility that Alice won't be in the film, but so far he's attached to the film. The following articles have been added to the site: Details: 1999-11 Sat, 09 Jun 2007 - Dennis Dunaway autobiography in the works Dennis Dunaway, of the original Alice Cooper group, is interviewed in the latest issue (Summer '07) of 22nd Century Rock magazine. The DDP features Rick Tedesco (guitar, vocals), Russ Wilson (drums), Ed Burns (keyboards, vocals), and obviously, Dennis Dunaway (bass, vocals). Dennis also talks about the writing of his autobiography and how that is progressing, as well as his recent appearance with Alice, Neal and Mike at Alice's Christmas Pudding event in Phoenix, Arizona. Remember, as reported here a few months ago, Alice was featured on the cover of the previous issue of the magazine (Spring '07), and copies of this issue are still available for purchase online. 22nd Century Rock magazine is published in Phoenix, Arizona and is available in select stores through out the country. It is also available to purchase through 22nd Century Rock's website for $5.50 within the US, $9.50 international (prices including shipping). Tell 'em we sent you! An announcement on the official Alice website states that Alice will be making an appearance on Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC) on April 30th, and once again on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS) on the May 4th. Don't forget the new Alice book is in store May 1st, the date seems to have been moved up from the previous May 17th release date. Site updates: Small news reports from Kerrang! 31st May 1997, Kerrang! 14th June 1997, and Metal Hammer January 2000 have been added. Sat, 10 Mar 2007 - New Album: Along Came a Spider There is finally some information coming out about Alice's new album. Titled Along Came A Spider, Alice describes the new album as a "rockin' album." With Along Came A Spider Alice has created another conceptual piece, this time the story follows a serial killer. After two albums of straight ahead garage rock, this is a return to what Alice does best, tell a story. On Friday's edition of Alice's radio show, Nights With Alice Cooper, Alice seemed to suggest the story behind the album isn't a strong story like say, The Last Temptation, but only time will tell the depth of the concept. The serial killer type of concept definately isn't something new Alice. He has previously written a short serial killer concept which covered the length of three songs on 1987's Raise Your Fist and Yell, and 1983's Dada which was about a disfunctional cannabalistic family. No release date for the album has been issued yet. A extensive world tour under the same title as the forthcoming album is also in the works, with dates in Australia, New Zealand, South America, Europe and America. Site updates: Added the Sunday Times Magazine (UK) article from 16th September 2001, and East Valley Tribune from 5th November 2006. Lyrics for Escape, which were absent from the Welcome to my Nightmare album lyrics, have also been added. The 30th April 1973 tour date of Corpus Christi has been corrected and updated to: Sam Houston Coliseum, Houston, Texas, USA Added the North Valley Magazine (Phoenix, Arizona) article from December 2006. Details of television appearances for select songs are now being added to the lyric pages. Wed, 21 Feb 2007 - 22nd Century Rock Magazine
