In that time the eChive has amassed almost 1000 articles covering Alice's lengthy career, a number that is ever growing Unfortunately, the last few years have seen a decline in the collection and additon of articles to this site. The static nature of the old design was more of a headache than a help, and other projects got in the way of my vision for the site and more specificially, the articles which it contains. I'm very happy to finally move into the 21st Century with the Alice Cooper eChive by presenting the articles in a database, a milestone for this site. This will improve the access to articles, and allow for some very cool features which were never easily available in the past. In the past there was only one method to display the articles, with an alphabetical list of publications (along with the dates for those publications). This 'search' is still available, although it's been improved to make it a little simplier to use and at the same time function better. But, new to the eChive are the date range links, which many people have asked for over the years. This is the first step into allowing access to the articles by the date alone, and will be developed upon further when advance searching options are developed. I've also singled out a few authors of interest in an effort to throw some attention back to the people that write about Alice; a familiar name whos work you can rely upon in the world of rock journalism is a rare thing these days. Singled out are some of the more famous names in rock journalism from the height of Alice's career, and a couple current writers to keep an eye on. I'm sure this list will be changing as time goes on... As I've already mentioned, this is the first stage in the development of this portion of the site. There will be more exciting features coming, as time allows. If there is feature you'd like to see added don't hesitate to let me know, or if you encounter any problems. Comments, corrections or questions are always welcome, as are new articles to add to the database. Thank you for your support, Lee Davey Special thanks should go to Si Halley and Ian McGregor who in the early days of this site got it off to a good start. |
