Alice Cooper rocks charity golf tourney with tribute band

The 13th annual Alice Cooper Pro-Am Golf Tournament, hosted by Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Organization, will be Nov. 7 at the Los Caballeros Golf Club in Wickenburg.

Events will include golf, food and live music. As a special finale to the day, a musical performance at the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts will begin at 8:30 p.m., featuring Halo of Flies, an Alice Cooper tribute band composed of Fender employees. Cooper is scheduled to make a special guest appearance.

The band takes its name from the title of a seven-plus minute opus off the “Killer” LP, where Cooper battles the forces of an evil counter-espionage group, “Halo of Flies.” All of the band’s members are accomplished musicians and lifelong fans of Cooper’s music.

Individual members of the band have shared the stage with Santana, The Neville Brothers, Kenny Loggins, Ziggy Marley, The Smithereens, Men at Work, Ub40, Los Lobos and the legendary Buck Owens. Audiences will rock to their faithful recreations of Coopers’s big hits, as well as some unearthed gems.

Opening acts for Halo of Flies will be local musical artists Destinee Quinn and Safe Haven, and comedian Michael “Black Jack” Wilson.

Tickets to the concert at the Webb Center are on sale; to reserve seats visit www.delewebbcenter.org, or call the Box Office, 928-684-6624.

Tickets range in price from $30 to $50. The Webb Center is at 1090 S. Vulture Mine Road in Wickenburg.
