Sometimes there's more to Vaude-Rocker Alice Cooper than meets the eye shadow. After a three-week Hawaiian vacation. Cooper came to New York last week and was . . . well, swept up in a city cleanup campaign. Joining some 300 volunteers, the rock star spent a couple of hours clearing away the garabage in one of Manhattan's parks. "I'm an old sentimentalist about New York." explained Cooper. That may be just as well. While the singer was away from home, his new $150,000 house in West Los Angeles burned to the ground.
